A group of Democrats is trying to include immigration reform in the social spending bill. They are determined to convince other PMs to vote for it before the bill hits the House.

The reform would support millions of undocumented immigrants, including “Dreamers”, farmworkers, and people who cannot return to their countries.

The proposal will give a 5-year permit to six to seven million immigrants to work in the United States. However, the reform will not include a full pathway to citizenship.

Key Democrats, including California Reps. Pete Aguilar, Raul Ruiz, and Zoe Lofgren have been trying to finalize the reform and include it in the bill.
